FUNERALS

FUNERAL PLANNING BOOKLET

  • At the time of death, a funeral director or loved one may contact the parish to arrange for a funeral service. Parish Office: 856-589-3366.

  • Loved ones are invited to take an active role in preparing the Funeral liturgy. Planning may include selection of readings, music, and deciding the ways family members and friends will be actively involved. A planning worksheet, suggestions for music and options for readings may be found in the Funeral booklet.

  • Normally, family members or friends place the pall over the casket and bring up the offertory gifts. Many families choose to have someone give a Eulogy, be lectors for the readings, lead the prayers of the Faithful, or serve as ministers of Holy Communion.

  • Funerals are generally celebrated at a time convenient to the family and that does not conflict with scheduled parish events.

  • Funerals for yourself or a loved one can be pre-planned at any time. Use the Funeral Booklet below, and call the office for more information or to meet with a priest.
